As a final part of our Shared Education project for 2018-2019, we visited the Ulster American Folk Park and Parkanaur Forest Park.

Our tour of the Ulster American Folk Park was about Children Through Time. The children were in their groups mixed with the children from Eskra and Aughadarragh and they visited five locations in the park. Each location demonstrated to them the difference in how they live today and how children lived many years ago. They got to taste some delicious homemade pancakes and bread, they heard about life in school for teachers and children, they washed clothes on a washboard, they met the blacksmith and they sat in a traditional church where people had to pay for their own pews.

Our visit to Parkanaur Forest Park was our final celebration for the year's work. Here the children got a tour of the park where they learned all about the plants and animals of Spring. They got to make nests for the birds and make insect masks using their own choice of decorations. Although it was a cold, wet day our day was much brighter as we got to see some of Santa's very own reindeer!!! laughing

It was another very enjoyable day for everyone involved.
