June was a month of special events as we celebrated Mrs Mills and her wonderful contribution to our school over the past 40 years.

The celebrations began with planting a tree on the school grounds on Monday 20th June followed by a Garden Party in the evening where the whole school community came together to thank Mrs Mills for her service and dedication. Finally, a service of celebration was held on Wednesday 22nd June where the children sang songs, read poems, played instruments and presented Mrs Mills with a beautiful memory box filled with best wishes from all the children in the school. This was followed by tea and cake in the school yard afterwards. 

Mrs Mills has been a valuable leader, a dedicated teacher, a supportive colleague and a wonderful friend to us all. To say she has left a mark on all our hearts is simply an understatement.  She retires after 40 years of service at Monaghan Model School, the last twelve of which she served as principal. She led by example and her kindness, dedication, wisdom and generosity will be remembered for years to come.

We would like to say a big 'Thank You' to Mrs Mills and  wish her every blessing as she embarks on this new chapter in her life.
